It is a new year and we are on the verge of another exciting mining boom in 2018.
The Central Queensland economy is set to be boosted by over $330 million during the construction phases of the Byerwen, Styx and Taroborah coal mining projects.
These projects are signally a revival of Australia’s resources sector and in particular the Bowen Basin.
During 2016-17 mining production grew steadily at 2.5% according to ABS National Accounts data, however BIS Oxford Economics expects that to accelerate to 5.5% during 2017/18 and faster again by 2020.
